Building near or over a public sewer? You'll need a Build Over Agreement from your water company before construction can begin. We handle the entire application process.
Our fee does not include the water board's application fee, which is payable directly to them.

When Is a Build Over Agreement Required?
A Build Over Agreement is legally required whenever your extension or foundations come near a public sewer.
Extension Over Sewer
Your extension footprint crosses or sits directly above a public sewer.
Within 3 Metres
Your foundations will be within 3 metres of a public sewer.
Deep Foundations
Your proposed foundations extend deeper than the sewer invert level.
Near Manholes
Construction near or over public manholes or inspection chambers.
Important: 2011 Sewer Transfer
In 2011, many private sewers were transferred to water company ownership. This means sewers you may have thought were private could now be public, requiring a Build Over Agreement. We check this for you.
